About ASAT
The Alliance for Sustainable Air Transportation (ASAT) represents a broad coalition of leaders who share a vision for accelerated implementation of the next-generation air transportation system. Achieving our vision has less to do with authoritative power than with reaching out, sharing our commitment, being transparent, facilitating trust, and enlisting individuals to work toward a common purpose.
Through our working groups and other programs we are:
- Fostering the development of NextGen operational prototypes and implementation blueprints across the nation;
- Establishing state, local and private collaboration with federal organizations to stimulate tangible near-term results;
- Defining standards and metrics for sustainable air transportation;
- Documenting, quantifying, and promoting the benefits of NextGen and sustainable air transportation.
Specifically, ASAT will:
- Recommend a portfolio of prototype applications based on user-developed business cases;
- Facilitate prototype formulation and implementation by industry-led teams;
- Monitor, measure, compile and communicate results to NextGen's Joint Planning & Development Office, the FAA, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security;
- Prepare blueprints and plans for rapid implementation by air transportation system users and service providers.
