The Alliance for Sustainable Air Transportation Suspends Operations

The Alliance for Sustainable Air Transportation (ASAT) was a non-profit, public-private partnership established in 2008 to support the implementation of a sustainable, environmentally sound and economically viable air transportation system. ASAT partners included federal, state, and local government entities, the private sector, and academic institutions.

As of December 30, 2009, the Alliance for Sustainable Air Transportation, Inc. has discontinued is operations as a result of the company's inability to grow its member base in the midst of the current global financial crisis. ASAT members continue to recognize that our air transportation system must meet growing capacity requirements while reducing impact to the environment. Through other collaborative efforts our members are working to accelerate implementation of the NextGen (NextGen).
